The POLICIES of GLOBAL ACTION  (WESTERN AUSTRALIA)

Global Action (Western Australia)
strongly supports the view that the benefits of the mineral boom should flow
first to Western Australians both at a corporate and individual level.  It is our wealth and we have every right to a share in it and to have a stronger say in what part of that wealth is allowed to flow to the eastern states and foreigners.  The state government has a major role to play in the protection of our future and that of our children from foreign interests who care little for the wellbeing of our citizens - regardless of their corporate hype.

We have a project vision for Western Australia that eventually includes a string of cities in our north the size of Perth, steel manufacturing and a massive irrigation and interlinked water resource managment system.

How would this happen?  It would unfold gradually in a grand and economically and environmentally sustainable partnership between private enterprise and the State and Federal Governments and would include a step by step vision stretching over decades and reaching forward into the future for a hundred years.  Our pioneers, Sir John Forrest, C.Y. O'Connor, Sir David Brand, Sir Charles Court and hundreds of other unsung heroes gave us the foundation, now we must value add to it.

One of the major obectives of the above plan would be to massively reduce pressure on Perth's urban areas, transportation systems, roads, and land prices by offering special incentives and arrangements for start up business in the proposed new cities.   In addition Global Action sees the release of cheap government land in these new developments as a major way to once again bring the dream of home ownership within the reach of young Australians.

Global Action (Western Australia) advocates the careful and systematic monitoring of all foreign workers on
temporary work visas.  It is common knowledge that many of these workers do not have suitable english language, education, or work skills.
The lack of such skills, especially in the mining and building industries can endanger the health and safety of Australian workers.  Many such workers arrive here from societies with radically different values, attitudes and life styles to our own and the checks and balances at present in place are totally inadequate.

Global Action (Australia) would prefer to see changes to the legislation relating to work visas to formally call all such workers 'guest workers' so as to highlight the fact that such people, while greatly valued, are not Australian citizens. In addition Global Action Australia would also like to see 'Permanent Residency' visas scrapped.
You are either a citizen or you are not.

It is also clear that many temporary work visa applicants have one aim in mind and that is to become citiizens of the luckiest state in the luckiest country in the world by the back door, by taking up basic tertiary education courses that then allow them to claim they are Australian trained professionals.  These are just the first steps to bringing in their families or partners here and in some cases the systematic milking of the Australian welfare system.

The role of immigration and job search agencies in selecting prospective workers needs to be very much more closely policed.

Global Action (Western Australia) will:

              a. Return real consultative and decision making power to the people who live work and invest
in this state and will fight to halt the financial and manpower drain taking place to
overseas commercial partners and the larger eastern states
under the guise of

centralisation, down sizing, cost cutting and economic rationalism.

                  b. Conduct government in an open transparent and fair way in the interests of the
future of the state and the people of Western Australia and not be beholden
                      to lobby
groups or vested interests.

                  c. Always act as an impartial umpire in its fight for the interests of all of the people of Western Australia.

                  d. Champion the rights of the individual and of families.   This great state exists for us and for our children
not for vested interest groups or foreigners!

                  e. Reduce the present heavy costs and constraints of government upon the community.  Western Australia
is  one the the most over regulated communities in the world and the cost of this compliance is crippling
both in terms if money and time wasted.

                   f. Conduct a small, nimble, expert, rapid response style of government that enables people to get on with
their lives minimal clutter of red tape.

                  g. Oppose the rise of PRIVATISED MONOPOLIES AND SEMI MONOPOLIES that in some cases become
foreign owned and therefore drain profits from Western Australia.

                  h. Use the power of the referendum to speedily decide important state issues.

                  i.  Court security and custodial services for the State's prisons will be removed from the private sector and
                      returned to direct government control.

                  J. The activities of the Department for Planning and Infrastructure (and the Fines Enforcement Registry) will
be reviewed and unpaid debts will be settled through the court system with an immediate 'pay up'
'make an arrangement' order,  mandatory community service, or a custodial order.

k.Global Action (Western Australia) will at all times strive to break down the state v commonwealth
antagonism that has existed for decades and where possible work with the commonwealth on all issues.
