GENERAL COMMENTS The cost to the Australian community of dental care is massive and mostly self inflicted through bad diet. Both the causes and the methods of prevention are well known. What has been missing is the will to fix it. The problem also continues because it is now an industry in which a few people make a lot of money (at the expense of all taxpayers). GLOBAL ACTION (AUSTRALIA) will legislate vigorous reforms in dental healthcare (DENTICARE), education, schools, the food industry, retail and the encouragement of new technology (pain free laser) dental services to combat decay.  GLOBAL ACTION (AUSTRALIA) will:
a. Progressively legislate known dangerous junk food out
of all food outlets and supermarkets.
b. Further tighten the laws on food labeling
to
include compulsory warnings about tooth decay similar to
c. Label and provide marketing incentives for products that protect from tooth decay
d. Eliminate the backlog of dental patients
requiring
treatment for decay in the public system by introducing a
