QUOTATION OF THE DAY

"The art, literature, music, architecture, medicine, technology, system of justice and scientific achievement of the European Peoples’ should mute all but the most hate-filled non-Whites. Our people have dried an ocean of tears compared to what we’ve caused, have fed a billion more people than we’ve mistreated, and educated a thousand non-Whites for every one we’ve abused. Europeans have brought literacy to societies that had no written language, concepts of justice to tribes that knew no law except that of the mighty and brutal, principles of freedom to lands that have known nothing but tyranny from the beginning of time. Non-Whites should not grow up imbued with hatred toward our people; and our young should not grow up with feelings of guilt, but with the pride and determination they need to become a meaningful part of a great people whose destiny points not toward the jungle, but toward the stars." - Unknown.

AUSTRALIAN LABOR LURCHES FROM DISASTER TO MEGA DISASTER

RUDD OUT, GILLARD IN... OH DEAR!

The Labor Party in Australia has clearly learned nothing from the catastrophic career of former glamour boy Kevin Rudd.  In choosing "Comrade" Gillard they again selected a motor mouth spin artist over what Australia really needs - a person of experience and substance!

Listening carefully and reading the nuances of body language from Ms Gillard today it is clear that while in fact closer to a Communist Commissar in her former life, she plans to dupe the Australian people by coming across as the new "queen of reason" in the cesspool of corruption and inefficiency called Canberra.

As with Rudd, we hear the smooth talk and the slick answers. As with Rudd, her track record is very different.  I give her a short honeymoon period, a matter of weeks, before the walls come crashing down on this latest Labor patch up job.

As a matter of curiosity I took a look at what I wrote the night Kevin Rudd became Prime Minister in 2007 - in the light of recent events it's almost prophetic! Here it is - enjoy!.

Australian Federal Election 2007

The greatest disaster since the election of the disgraced Gough Whitlam government  in 1972

On Saturday 24th November 2007 a state of temporary insanity descended upon Australia when voters elected the Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard Labor team.

On Sunday morning millions of Australian will wake up and begin to ask themselves "what have we done?"  As their present world gradually collapses around them, they will probably find themselves repeating that question for the next three years.

So "What have we done?"

Well here are a few of the answers.  The nation has thrown away its birthright and any hope of strong and experienced future economic management by swallowing the sweet and tempting, but hollow words and promises of the slickest and yet most unqualified political team ever to lay their hands on the levers of power in our great nation.

Under the guise of the quite meaningless cry "it's time for a change" Australians have thrown away the benefits of eleven years of prosperity and elected a new Prime Minister who's only claims to fame are that he was a one time diplomat and speaks fluent mandarin chinese. Even worse, they elected a total turkey, Julia Gillard,  a motor mouth red, as deputy prime minister. This  women clearly has the brains of a geranium and yet will guide the destiny of every Australian workplace - right back to the days of destructive and counter productive unionism.  If, heaven forbid, Kevin Rudd falls ill due to his heart condition, this vain and empty headed creature will be prime minister.

Voters have invited into our daily lives a plague of former union officials and a pestilence of left wing cronies, political correctness and a toxic mix of multi-culturalism that will lay the foundations for the destruction of the very values that made this nation great.  The floodgates to foreign immigration will now lay wide open.  Our children and grandchildren will curse both this day and the short sighted stupidity of the so called "swinging voters" who by their political ignorance or just plain muddled headed thinking allowed this calamity to occur.

At a time when the United States financial and banking sectors are crumbling, expected growth in the world's biggest economy has been revised downward, inflation is again gathering steam and the US dollar is tattered and fading, Aussie voters invited a team of inexperienced and incompetent children, pop stars, nobodies and unionists to govern our affairs, protect our economy, keep mortgage rates down and guarantee job growth.  Fat chance!   If the American economy falters the knock on effect for Australia will be devastating. If the USA reduces it's purchases of Chinese goods our economic mining boom evaporates and the Australian economy will be savaged.

As I write, a host of predator nations in OPEC (particularly led by muslim Iran and Chavez' Venezuela) are considering swapping oil contracts from US dollars to euros.  To weather this growing storm, plus the already breaking cyclone of peak oil, we need hard nosed, experience, economic management, yet Australian voters have just elected a team of glib media darlings and novices.

Expect a flood of African, Philippine, Mexican and Indonesian settlers, oops, refugees. Expect more Chinese who will snap up every tax dodge small cash business in the nation. More muslims, more Indians and Pakistanis who will gobble up the education and work places of Australian kids.  Expect food and health standards to drop as third worlders take up more jobs in our food halls and fast food outlets.  Expect more racial tension, drugs, marriage breakdowns, rape and crime. Expect more corruption. Finally expect your Australian rights to be trampled in the dirt.

Don't expect the person on the other side of the counter at the local petrol dis-service station to be able to speak english.  Whatever you do don't think that your children will ever again be able to "call Australia home".  Yes, that's right, the vote that was cast on 24th of November 2007 for Labor will within two decades make Aussie kids strangers and slaves in their own land.

Out of this shambles will come the next generation of Australian political traitors. They will joint the idiot Whitlam, who ran his Labor government and the nation broke and was fired by the then Governor General - Sir John Kerr.  Al Grasby, the traitorous Whitlam immigration minister, who first opened the doors for the destruction of Australian culture and who was later exposed as a crook and died in shame.  The disgraced fool Paul Keating, the self proclaimed "world's greatest treasurer" who gave Australia "the recession it needed to have" and  for a time made us a banana republic.  Then there was Bob Hawke, the union destroyer and egotistical, self seeking, squabbler whose only claim to fame was that he declared on the day we won the Americas cup that "any boss who  expects  his staff to  work today, is a bum!"  Finally, there was Malcom  Frazer, the school prefect Liberal,  who replaced Whitlam, but left our doors wide open to foreigners and sundry scum.

Time will tell. Our children will pay the price. In spite of all John Howard and his team's hard work and occasional failings Australia will now take a massive step backwards.

Today the Federal government is in the black due to sound management. Tomorrow the red ink will begin to flow!

Tomorrow Rudd and his Labor team will bask in the warm sunny glow of victory, but in the not too distant future ordinary Australians will see the first cancerous pustules appear on the Labor body politic.

It's all down hill folks!

UK Budget: Osborne's 'tough' package puts VAT up to 20%
BBC World News

VAT is to rise from 17.5% to 20% in January after George Osborne unveiled the biggest package of tax increases and spending cuts in a generation.

He said his "tough but fair" Budget was "unavoidable" although he told MPs in the Commons there would be no extra tax on alcohol, tobacco and fuel.

Child benefit will be frozen for three years and there would be cuts to family tax credits and housing benefits.

Labour said the Budget would "throw people out of work" and stifle growth.

But Mr Osborne laid the blame for the state of the nation's finances squarely at the door of the previous Labour government, saying: "The years of debt and spending make this unavoidable."

He promised to balance Britain's books within five years - faster than Labour was planning, with the bulk of the savings to come from cuts to benefits and public services rather than tax increases.

He said action was needed to prevent a "catastrophic collapse" in economic confidence but stressed it would be done in a "fair" way with the better-off shouldering most of the burden.

"Everyone will pay something but the people at the bottom of the income scale will pay proportionately less than those at the top. This is a progressive Budget," he said to jeers from Labour MPs.

Tax credits will be cut for families earning more than £40,000 a year - and there will be a two year pay freeze for public servants paid more than £21,000, with those earning less all getting a £250 rise.

In addition to the VAT increase, which Mr Osborne said would raise £13bn a year, capital gains tax will be increased to 28% for top rate taxpayers - less than the 50% some Conservative backbenchers had feared.

San Francisco passes cell phone radiation law

San Francisco has become the first city in the US to require mobile phone retailers to post radiation levels next to the handsets they sell.

The board of supervisors, or council, voted 10-1 to approve the measure.

"This is about helping people make informed choices," said the law's chief sponsor, Supervisor Sophie Maxwell.

The mobile phone industry has pointed to studies that it says show mobile phone radiation was not harmful to people.

It has fought similar legislation in California and Maine, and defeated the bills in both states.

The Federal Communications Commission has adopted limits that set out safe exposure to these kinds of emissions.

The measurement defines the amount of radio waves that people can safely absorb into their bodies when talking on a mobile phone.

Some researchers have claimed such emissions can be linked to cancer and brain tumours but there remains little scientific consensus on the matter.

"This is not about discouraging people from using their cell phones," said Tony Winnicker, spokesman for San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who has said he will sign the legislation into law.

"This is a modest commonsense measure to provide greater transparency and information to consumers."  Full Story

Report: 43% more millionaires in Israel in 2009

Israel third in the world in relative growth rate after India, Hong Kong; Meryll Lynch defines millionaire as someone with at least $1 million liquid assets.

While the global financial crisis led to a 17 percent rise in the number of millionaires in the world in 2009, the number of Israeli millionaires increased by a whopping 43 percent last year, business consultant firm Capgemini and Merrill Lynch financial management advisory firm announced Tuesday.

The drastic climb placed Israel as the country with the third highest growth rate of millionaires per capita, after India and Hong Kong.
Hong Kong saw the highest growth rate of millionaires, with 104 percent rise, while India saw a 50.9 percent rise. The countries with the most millionaires remained the United States, Germany and Japan.

During 2009 there were over 10 million millionaires throughout the world, holding together assets worth over $39 trillion, while in Israel there were 8,419 millionaires.
The climb is due to a 40 percent rise in the number of financial share holders in Israel's stock market, and in a 15.5 percent rise in real estate prices.

This is the 14th year in which Meryll Lynch has published a report on the world's millionaires, which they define as someone who has over $1 million in liquid and available assets, not including real estate investments. The report defines a multi-millionaire as someone whose fortune amounts to $30 million or more.  Story Link

Israeli court overturns ultra-Orthodox jail sentences

Israel's supreme court has overturned jail terms given to a group of ultra-Orthodox Jewish mothers for disobeying a court order on school integration.

They had refused to let their daughters attend school with girls from a different Jewish background.

Last week, ultra-orthodox Jews staged one of the biggest protests against the state of Israel.

The women, who were sentenced to two weeks in jail, belong to a strictly observant Ashkenazi sect.

The Ashkenazi parents refused to send their children to school with Jewish Sephardi girls, citing religious grounds as the reason.

Sephardi families are of Middle Eastern or North African origin.

'Special circumstances'

The Ashkenazi parents, who are of European descent, want segregated classrooms because they say the Sephardi families are not religious enough.

The court has exempted 13 of the mothers from jail to care for their children and allowed nine to delay serving their sentences until their jailed husbands returned home.

"These are mothers in special circumstances and they have been allowed to stay at home," a justice official told the AFP news agency.

Some of the women were said to be pregnant or have children with special needs, reports said.

Thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews had protested against the original court ruling that ordered the women to return their daughters to the Beit Yaakov girls' school in the West Bank settlement of Immanuel.

Dozens of the families' fathers were jailed for defying the school integration ruling.

The families at the centre of the legal battle come from a strictly observant sect of Hasidic Jews called Slonim, who have Ashkenazi lineage.

They have pulled their children out of the school saying the less observant students would be a bad influence on them. Full Story

What's Next For The Fed? Nothing, It Has Officially Become Useless

Today’s Fed decision is largely a non-event.  The consensus believes the Fed will leave rates unchanged and is unlikely to alter their language too much as global double dip concerns have increased in recent months:

“The FOMC announcement for the June 22-23 FOMC policy meeting is expected to leave the fed funds target rate unchanged. With continued market skittishness over sovereign debt problems in Greece and other European countries, the Fed is likely to be cautious about plans for unwinding its expanded balance sheet. Fed watchers likely will focus on statement wording regarding the status of the economy-notably any signs of labor market improvement.”

But as the seemingly endless zero interest rate policy continues some at the FOMC are beginning to get antsy about the Fed potentially being behind the 8 ball as they were in 2002 and heading into the recession.  Of course, I think we are looking more and more Japanese.  The problems in Europe have almost certainly compounded our problems and that likely means the Fed will be even more hesitant to raise rates. A recent SF Fed paper confirms this thinking.  They believe the current environment is similar to Japan:

“some worry that maintaining a large Fed balance sheet with substantial holdings of securities as assets and bank reserves as liabilities could trigger an unwelcome rise in inflation expectations and inflation. However, the doubling of the Fed’s balance sheet has had no discernible effect on long-run inflation expectations measured in the Survey of Professional Forecasters. This insensitivity of inflation to an enlarged central bank balance sheet is consistent with Japan’s decade-long spell of price deflation.”

They conclude that ZRIP is justified perhaps as far as 2012:

“Many predict that the economy will take years to return to full employment and that inflation will remain very low. If so, it seems likely that the Fed’s exit from the current accommodative stance of monetary policy will take a significant period of time.” Full Story
