THE AUSTRALIAN AEROSPACE INDUSTRY

GLOBAL ACTION (AUSTRALIA) fully appreciates the importance of growing a world class civil and defense aerospace industry in Australia.

GLOBAL ACTION  (AUSTRALIA) will create the climate or partnership and opportunity for Australia to become a genuine world player in this industry and all of the technologies associated with it.

Many factors in the national make-up of this country point to Australia's potential in this exciting commercial, scientific, and  high technology based industry.  We have a history of innovation, design and manufacturing excellence - building our own aircraft during WWII,  Woomera etc.

We have a highly skilled, world beating, scientific community.

We have a skilled workforce.

We have political stability - lacking in many other countries.

We have the resources.

We have the geographical space and we have a small, but dynamic population.

GLOBAL ACTION  (AUSTRALIA) sees the Australian Aerospace Industry as a major contributor to the future wealth and security of this country and its people and will offer the green light to all projects deemed viable.

GLOBAL ACTION  (AUSTRALIA) WILL

    a.    Review all present projects within this sphere.

    b.    Swiftly bring together and co-operate strongly with allies, private enterprise, the education system, and government
bodies to create and implement an action plan for the Aerospace Industry in Australia for the next two
           decades and beyond.

    c.    Aggressively support Australian corporations, companies and organisations who conceive, research, design,
engineer, manufacture, sell and maintain equipment or components or provide value-added commercial
aviation and defense systems technology, equipment and  services to the aerospace industry in Australia
           and worldwide.

    d.     Actively assist the development and growth of the Australian Aerospace industry by providing the climate to
raise the necessary finance to enable viable projects to move quickly from concept to completion.

    e.    Provide the means and environment for the Australian Aerospace Industry to successfully secure major
defense and civil aerospace projects and contracts of all sizes here and overseas.

    f.     Keep those who are working in the aerospace industry abreast of world technological developments
           at all times.

    g.    Provide a high level of security and protection from all outside interference for local firms, corporations,
organisations and their personnel working in the Australian Aerospace industry on projects deemed
to be in 'the national interest'.

    h.    Assist the Australian Aerospace industry with representation at Australian and International exhibitions
           and marketing events.

    i.     Strive to develop firm working relations
and technology sharing with like minded international
           partners.

Of particular interest are projects that:

    a.    Show solid prospects for the generation of a positive financial return
to the partners and stake holders.

    b.     Earn export dollars.

    c.     Create manufacturing, employment and skill building opportunities

    d.     Improve the defense capabilities of Australia and deter would be aggressors.

    e.     Explore new frontiers of science and technology.

Firmly on the agenda are:

    a.    An Australian space satellite program for commercial and military use
including the development of economically viable one shot and re-usable launch vehicles, communications
and intelligence gathering technologies and space lab facilities.

    b.    The immediate development of the scram jet technology as a wholly Australian project.

    c.    An Australian commercial light aircraft building industry with special attention to state of the art product for
          export to the world market.

    d.    A medium term plan to end the need to import specialist light aircraft and helicopters from overseas for
search and rescue, fire fighting and natural disaster operations.  We will build them here for domestic
           use and for export.

    e.    Structures, industry support infrastructure and pathways that will allow Australia to aggressively build upon our
home grown technological edge and reach for even greater peaceful and self defense capabilities.

    f.    The identification and removal of all impediments to progress in the Australian Aerospace Industry.

GLOBAL ACTION INTERNATIONAL strongly supports partner research into new civilian airliner technologies and regrets the end of Concorde.
